The interior design studio of Laura Manchee Designs focuses on creating environments that are timeless, fashionable, and bring forth a modern interpretation of classic interiors.
We challenge ourselves creatively with each project and encourage our clients to do the same at whatever level they choose. We strive to develop lasting collaborative relationships based on trust and communication, in order to create residential and commercial spaces that enhance the quality of life.
Principal - ASID, RID
Laura Manchee has been a licensed interior designer for over 20 years. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas and later attended the University of Texas at Austin where she received a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. Laura began her career at Ziegler Cooper Architects, where she became an associate principal and managed a corporate interiors studio for the firm. In 2004, Laura started her own interior design practice focusing on residential design. Laura gives back to the design community by serving on the board of advisors for Houston Community College’s Interior Design Program. When Laura isn’t busy designing, she enjoys spending quality family time with her husband and two young boys.
Laura enjoys embarking on the collaborative process with clients and creating functional, yet beautiful and stylish, living spaces. She believes interior design is a way to positively impact people’s lives, which she did first on a macro level in commercial design. She now cherishes the personal relationships developed with each of her residential clients and continues to value the ability to positively impact people’s lives with design.

Namita is a Native Texan and a longtime Houston resident. With a background in medical technology, she sought a change of pace and an outlet for her creative side and earned a degree in Interior Design. She started with Laura as an intern and has been with the company for over 10 years. When she is not at work, she is volunteering with the Mahatma Gandhi Library, a non-profit organization in Houston for which Namita serves on the Board of Directors.
One thing Namita loves about design is that every day is different – a new set of fabrics that inspire you, new lighting to illuminate a space, the perfect tile, hardware, or furniture piece – inspiration is everywhere. In addition to the creative side of design, she also enjoys the technical side of and looks forward to finding the best solution within a space to ensure full functionality.
